Philthy by Phuturetone: A Powerful Analog Synth for Reaktor
Philthy is an innovative analog synthesizer designed for Native Instruments’ Reaktor platform. With its rich feature set, it offers an exceptional sonic experience for sound designers and musicians alike.
Key features of Philthy include three oscillators, a noise generator, and external input capabilities, giving you plenty of room to experiment and shape your sound. The ADSR envelope, simple yet effective filter, and built-in ring modulator add further versatility to this synth. A standout feature is the intuitive routing matrix, which lets you freely interconnect all the synth’s elements, unlocking endless creative possibilities.
Philthy also includes an XY joystick and a lush reverb effect for added depth and movement in your sounds. It’s an ideal tool for creating everything from rich, evolving pads to gritty, experimental tones.
Important Notes:
- The routing matrix is essential for sound output – no sound will be produced unless you route sources to one of the outputs.
- OSC 3’s frequency is initially set to a low range (LFO). To match the pitch range of the other oscillators, route KEY TRACKING to OSC 3’s frequency.
- The ENVELOOP behaves uniquely in LOOP mode, playing constantly unless a key is pressed. To make it function like a standard envelope, set the ENVELOOP REST control to maximum.
- For advanced control, switch to PANEL B to adjust oscillator and filter frequencies in semitones, view envelope times in milliseconds, and fine-tune the reverb feedback.
System Requirements:
- Reaktor 6 or newer
Caution: Philthy can output powerful sounds directly to your speakers, so be sure to play at reasonable volume levels, especially when you’re just getting familiar with the instrument.
